Must sail daytime on motor, relaxing, repair, investigating spare room for spare parts on our day on the canal.

First reef in mainsail, heavy waves and a lot of wind we went for sail to Brunsbüttel in the Kiel canal. Frederik made a nice spaghetti bolognese testing out the support band in the galley. We went into the dock with the cargo ships because the smaller dock was closed. In the harbor we put lid on the 2 fresh water and 2 black water tanks. After that we deserved a meal at the restaurant on the harbor.

Before leaving Hindeloope a new start-battery was bought at the harbor boat shop and installed. Lars did not trust the old one. Then left after filling up with diesel not knowing that the port tank was filled up and the switch on hand driven. I had to test steering with the rat and so had Frederik and Kristoffer also. In Harlingen we could ad a lot of good dutch food to the fridge and freezer.

Finally we were back in Hindeloope and on board Alexandra in the evening Friday the 13 of June 2014. The tanks were not closed but had to be open until next Wednesday. We had to clean up a little and of cause a lot of that later on at home. Hans and Mariet arrived on Saturday and Hans helped Lars, Frederik (29) and Kristoffer (26) with the rigging of the mainsail. We tested the gas grill in the evening and had a nice supper together.

We have got the first pictures from the tank renovation project at Aluboot in HIndeloopen. We are happy that we are doing this now when we see the pictures. One of the septictanks are really corroded. The project will unfortunately be delayed due to the extent of the corrosion

WE look forward to get Alexandra to Denmark when the job is done.

The mast was unstepped for the first time since New Zealand

And afterwords she was taken to Aluboot shipyard for repair of the 5 tanks.

We look forward to see her in 4 weeks.

Alexandra is back in Hindeloopen after 25 year. She was build at the shipyard Aluboot in Hindeloopen and launched in 1989. On the 6th of May Alexandra will be put on the hard for repair of the Freshwater tanks and the black-water tanks.

On the 6th of June she will be ready for The final leg back to Denmark.

The delivery crew is taking a break in Amsterdam before the final leg to Hindeloopen where Aluboot is waiting to make some repair.

Yesterday mid day Alexandra and crew left La Coruña for the crossing of the Biscay. We could follow Alexandra on AIS tracking until 01:57.
