Maintenance and retrofitting summer and fall 2014

Preparing for summer holiday;

First of all connecting the fresh water hose under mattress in forward cabin so we can keep the nice fresh water in the tank. Something must have happened when they worked on the tanks since the pipes broke. Replace the rubber diaphragm in the bilge pump with a spare part already on board. Empty  Alexandra for unnecessary equipment for sailing in Scandinavian waters, as for instance  different kinds of sun cover. Two new clockworks were installed. Replace old VHF (in the liqueur cabinet) with a new VHF with DSC. Install a new GPS-repeater at the helm. Replace forward shower drain pump with a new one that can take the water 3 M up and out. Replace aft macerator pump for aft black water pump. Reconnect aft shower drain pump so it could work. Test the dingy and hang up on the davits.

During summer holiday:

New electrical cord to the remote control for the anchor winch, installed at Malö. After problems with the reverse gear, a massive work on the motor took place in Göteborg, Långedrag at Långedrag Technic in Göta elv. It was a locking nut that holds the flange in place on the drive shaft in the gear box, that had fallen of.

Alignment of the engine took place with the professional help from Bjarne Pedersen.  Lars and Bjarne also found out that three of the four bolts that hold the engine on the vibration dampers were broken. All four was replaced.  Shift a hose for the salt water intake (bought but found out later there were a spare part on board). Installed new hinges for aft  toilet, in Helsingør.

Preparing for autumn cruising tour with KDY to Helsingör: Greasing lock to transparent “bulkhead”. Nice use it all the time. Guests on board so therefore sewed new madras cover. Installed new battery for the Westerbeke generator.

Before Metal cup in Sletten: Installed new Webasto heater and hangers for the ropes.

Preparing for winter: Plexiglas inside windows. New radio and TV installed. The old radio moved to forward cabin.
