The history

In 1988 Alexandra was designed (#423) as a cruiser/racer by the famous Dutch yacht designer Van de Stadt. Van de Stadt became so enthousiastic about Alexandra that they are offering a 47-foot version as their standard design #426 “SAMOA”. In 2002 the Dutch sailing magazine “Zeilen” voted the Samoa design as the best bluewater cruiser for a circumnavigation.

Build by the well known shipbuilder Aluboot in Hindeloopen, she was launched on May 19, 1988.

During the last 10 years Alexandra has been adapted by the current owners to be a save, manageable and comfortable bluewater cruiser for the Pacific Ocean. Alexandra is a cruising yacht that can be handled with a crew of only two persons, but can also accommodate up to five guest (two guests is perfect!). Due to all additional equipment she has lost a little of her earlier racing spirit, but life in the Pacific is too placid to be in a hurry!
